My roof is pretty old - probably pushing 15 years. Also, it was put on top of the original house roof so I have two layers of shingles.

The question is shall I install a new roof? Yes, the current one looks old but I don't have any leaks. Maybe I should just wait until I start having problems with it?

Thanks.

Ivan

I would recommend having a trusted contractor take a look. The problem with waiting for a problem is that sometimes the problem can significantly add cost. Typical roofs have duration of 15 to 20 years. Other factor is the actual construction of the roof and the conditions it is subjected to. Direct sun, lots of moisture from trees, etc. Best policy - have two to three professionals review and give their opinion and a quote if applicable.

does it matter what season you choose for changing your roof?
