Through the last year the real estate market in the U.S. has been given a bad name.  Well, living here in Dallas Texas we are not seeing what the media has been broadcasting. For new homes especially, many have had increases in profits eventhough the drop in starts.

The big dogs here have banded together and have created a very positive website to help stop the media's blitz of how bad properties are in the DFW Metroplex.

DFW Buy Now

DFWHousingFacts.org is a new website that highlights the positive features of the Dallas Ft. Worth Real Estate market.  For those not in DFW, there is many national stats and content on the site that is applicable to your market.

One suggestion is to design a site similar to this to promote your Real Estate market.  One of the biggest problems is the tendency for the national media to proclaim the whole real estate market as having problems; when in fact there are many markets that are holding their own or growing.

Great post Brad. It is unfortunate that our national media has such a strangle hold on the popular conscious. I will post a article that I dug up from Fortune not too long ago that hailed the dawn of the real estate age. Now a few years later and it is doom, gloom and total pessimism. Let's face it they get paid to sell newspapers, magazines and air-time... I guess that's why we get the total lack of rationale and accurate reporting.

Checked out the website you reference and great idea. Its about time we used our collective power to bring facts and reason into the forefront.

Glad to see that others continue to be optimistic and are also seeing "other" things out there. The Naysayers and "doom and gloom" crowd won't easily win me over to the Dark Side-even here, in Southern California.
Good Post!
